The RAF Association: Wings Lotto Winner On A Roll!

A former member of the RAF’s mountain rescue team has won the RAF Association’s Wings Lotto rollover jackpot which has scooped him £7,250.
Terry Heaton, 65, from Langollen in Wales, was delighted to receive the prize, which he said he would either put towards a car or premium bonds.
He added: “I’ve played the Lotto since it started, to help the charity, and couldn’t believe it when we were told we had won. It was the first time we had ever won anything and was such a pleasant surprise.”

Wings Lotto has been running since 2008. The first and third prizes of £1,000 and £100 are guaranteed to be won every week.
The second prize of £250 is not guaranteed and if it is not won, it will be rolled over to the next week up to a maximum of £10,000. On reaching the £10,000 jackpot, a winner will be guaranteed.
Mr Heaton served in the RAF for 12 years and is a member of the town’s RAF Association club, which is renowned for its popular bowling green.
He has played many a part in the club, including the role of Chairman, and was a welfare officer for four years.
A keen bowler himself, he now runs the bowling green for the club and teams from all over Wales come along to take part in the matches.
He said: “Playing the Wings Lotto is not like the National Lottery that you see every week. At just £13 per quarter, you almost forget you are playing it, but then when we heard the news we had won it was lovely!”
Funds raised from the lotto go to the RAF Association’s Wings Appeal - providing help and support for past and present members of the RAF and their families.
