- Veterans' Day is characterised by an extensive range of events organised at local, regional and national levels, involving the widest possible cross-section of the community.
- Veterans' Day leaves Veterans feeling that they enjoy the respect and commitment of government and the nation at large.

A regional event also took place in London at Trafalgar Square on 27 June 2008, at which there was a Veterans Badge presentation, bands, activities and stalls.
