ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the National Charity of the British Army. The Soldiers’ Charity began in 1944 as the Army Benevolent Fund and rebranded in 2010 to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. With help from the public, we support each and every soldier, veteran, and their immediate family who need our help, either by supporting individuals directly or through our partner delivery charities.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is recruiting an Events Assistant, responsible for the day-to-day running of our South-East Regional Office, located in Camberley. The role encompasses: providing administrative, database management and accounting support to the regional office. Whilst also supporting regional fundraising, developing our volunteer fundraising, and assisting with the delivery of fundraising events.
It is essential that the successful candidate has strong administrative skills, holds a driving license and is able to be flexible with working patterns, due to a demand for out of hours and weekend working, particularly during the summer event season. We are seeking a candidate with well-developed communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills, whilst also being literate and numerate to a high standard. In addition to administrative duties the successful candidate will be required to manage their own regional events, assist with briefings, and represent the Charity at external events, where opportunities exist and with guidance from their Regional Director.
The starting salary is £26,000 per annum with 30 days annual leave running from April to March. After a probationary period of 6 months the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity’s full range of employment benefits including an income protection scheme and an employer contribution pension. There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities with a TOIL scheme in place.
This is a full-time post for 35 hours per week based at the Charity’s South-East Regional Office in Camberley, Surrey (the Charity currently operates under a Flexible and Hybrid Working Policy).
