Legasee – Social Media Volunteer

Legasee are looking for a talented Social Media Volunteer to develop and maintain a strong online presence for our organisation.

Your role will be to create and schedule posts on both existing and new social media accounts (Facebook page / group, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc).

You will be responsible for creating content that promotes the charity’s video archive, it’s teaching resources and our educational projects. Your goal is to increase the charity’s profile, its support base and engagements. Good written communication skills, combined with accuracy and laser focused attention to detail are pre-requisites.

We are looking for someone who can commit to working on our social media strategy for at least 3 months. You will benefit from training and on-going skills development, as well as professional support from a small team of friendly Trustees.

Most of the work will be done remotely, but you will have the opportunity to join activities for the creation of media (photographing and filming activities, gaining quotes from staff and participants, etc). All expenses will be reimbursed.

We welcome applicants from ALL sections of the community and will work flexibly with you to ensure your volunteering journey is a positive and satisfying experience.

In the first instance, please email info@legasee.org.uk and tell us why you are interested.

Legasee is made up of a team of volunteer filmmakers, writers, designers and storytellers who are passionate about capturing our military heritage in an increasingly fast-moving consumer society.

We provide students, teachers and researchers with unique access to a high-definition video archive of interviews with Veterans of military conflict from 1939 to the present day. We now have the largest freely available film archive of British military veterans online. Our ambition is to record many more interviews so that future generations can learn from the legacy of bravery and sacrifice of these men and women.
