Opened on its current central London site adjacent the Waterloo Railway Sation in 1907, the Union Jack Club has now given almost 120 years of uninterrupted refuge and support for millions of enlisted military personnel, during times of war and peace. Membership is free for all non-commissioned British Armed Forces personnel and spouse/partners, and veterans pay a small fee. Today, there are around 65,000 registered Members.

As the London home for enlisted British Armed forces personnel, the UJC houses: a restaurant, bar and café; accommodation comprising individual, dormitory, shared, fully accessible and family rooms, and flats; unique Victoria Cross and George Cross Rolls of Honour; a library, reading room, games and changing rooms; day lockers, office hot-desk work areas, launderette, baggage room, and meeting, event and conference areas with stunning views.

As such the Club is a first point of call for Services personnel passing through on assignment or taking a break, and for those called in to London to serve, including for example throughout the recent COVID crisis.

Significantly, with a military ethos, enhanced security, a prime location, and careful pricing the UJC acts as a London home and meeting place for the major Services charities; as well as being a focal point for veterans’ associations’ gatherings; when members to meet, rest and socialise. Its place in tat the heart of the military community is never more evident than during national days including the memorial for our late Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and also for the Coronation of King Charles III; and of course, annually, for Remembrance Weekend.

There is no fee for serving Non-Commissioned members of HM Armed Forces who have access using their Military ID card. Ex-Service members’ annual fee remains at £17. Service leavers who have left HM Armed Forces within 2 years we offer the first years membership fee of £20 free.
