£22733 – £23929 pro rata for 25 hours per week
Based at our office at RAF Wittering with agile home working
About Us
The Royal Air Force Families Federation (RAFFF) exists to improve the quality of life for the RAF family around the world – at work or at home. We provide an independent voice for Serving personnel and their families and is a confidential service that relies upon the integrity, and professionalism of its staff to deliver a Federation that is both credible and respected by all parties
About the team
There is a great role now available for the right person here at the RAF Families Federation. Can you help RAF personnel and families who may be experiencing issues related to service life – it may be accommodation, moving house, needing support for their children or themselves? You might have a background in the RAF or the other services – or come from a military family. This experience would help but is not the only relevant background – roles where you can show experience in supporting others and problem solving on their behalf is key to this position. You will be working with a team of other specialists, all of whom help and support each other.
We are based at offices at RAF Wittering and this role is suitable for agile working, attending the office on 2 to 3 days a week. Our current Accommodation Specialist, Greg, is now off to Europe and we are having to wave goodbye. He will be happy to chat to you about the role – please email him at gregory.timlin@raf-ff.org.uk, or the Policy and Evidence manager (line manager) at Vanessa.plumley@raf-ff.org.uk for an informal chat or with any questions you might have. ‘
About You
An understanding and empathy of the service lifestyle is key to being successful in this role. We need you to be a confident and persuasive communicator as you will be liaising with the relevant accommodation agencies highlighting concerns and issues. A proactive problem solver, you will take ownership of these issues and provide timely feedback to RAF families with information on the progress of their cases. You will need to have a high level of IT proficiency covering areas such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint and databases (we use Salesforce) along with excellent (and creative!) writing skills to assist in the production of accommodation related articles for use in the RAFFF magazine Envoy, on the RAFFF website, and in other publications.
We will support you with flexibility in your working hours as there will be occasions when you will have to undertake travel to create and maintain productive relationships with various RAF personnel, housing contractors and suppliers.
Why join us?
We are immensely proud of the work we do and our colleagues share this sense of pride. We offer a wide range of benefits including life insurance, generous holiday entitlement, sick pay and time off to relax and recharge over the Christmas period.
