Military charity makes new friends at Perth Show

Volunteers of the Perth & Kinross Branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity attended the much-loved and well-attended Perth Show at South Inch last weekend

It was a timely opportunity raise the profile of the UK’s oldest tri-service charity to new audiences, while making new friends and renewing old acquaintances including the new Deputy Provost Andrew Parrott – an ex-serviceman himself – and Perth Samaritans volunteers at their stand.

One of these new friends, land management experts Bell Ingram, invited SSAFA to share its pitch, an offer gratefully taken up by the branch.

Andy Middlemiss, Branch Chairman of SSAFA Perth & Kinross and late of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers, said:

The Perth Show is a fabulous two-day event and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the many members of the public who chatted to us, making new friends and connections.

“The Bell Ingram staff are very supportive of what SSAFA aims to do. We are most grateful to them for this kindness, and we are both exploring ways how this relationship might be taken further.
