The Bolton Guild of Help – Veterans Welfare

With much appreciated, wonderful support from the Veterans Foundation, the Bolton Guild of Help is now opening its second Veterans and Community Support Drop-In Centre, at the Bridge Church in Horwich, on Wednesday the 18 of June at 09.30.

The new Centre will provide a wide range of support to local veterans’ and their families and, also, those still serving and their families.

The Guild operates exclusively within the Borough of Bolton and provides help and support in many ways including:

  • The provision of emergency food and clothing vouchers
  • Assistance with electrical and building repairs
  • Information, advice and guidance regarding benefit entitlements, debt, and other financial matters
  • The provision of white goods (washing machines, cookers and fridge/freezers) carpets (1) and furniture
  • Access to mental health support teams
  • Christmas gift vouchers and toys for children
  • School uniforms
  • Assistance with energy costs
  • Referrals to military charities, eg, SSAFA The Armed Forces charity and the Royal British Legion
  • Access to our Veterans and Community Support Drop-In Centre every Thursday morning at the Bridge Café in Bolton from 09.00. until 13.00
  • Access to our new Veterans and Community Support Drop-In Centre at the Bridge Church in Horwich every Wednesday from 09.30 until 13.30
  • Opportunities for veterans and their families, and those still serving, to join in our comradeship events

The Guild is planning to open a third support Centre within the Borough by the end of 2025.

This year the Bolton Guild of Help is proudly celebrating 120 years of providing support to the Bolton military family.
