Waterloo Uncovered is the ground-breaking charity combining world-class archaeology with veteran and serving military personnel wellbeing and recovery through discovery of the Battle of Waterloo. In autumn 2025 we have two programmes available, for which applications are now open – click here for more information.
- Battlefields Uncovered, a virtual programme that supports veterans and serving personnel to learn and develop knowledge, reduce loneliness and isolation, improve mental health and wellbeing, and equip beneficiaries with transferable skills. Starting in early October, the programme runs for 16 weeks and is online.
- Exhibition Programme, in collaboration with the Royal Hospital Chelsea, beneficiaries will curate an exhibition of objects from our collection, culminating in a small pop up exhibition. Engagement sessions will run from the end of October to early December, with the exhibition in late November.
Our innovative programmes provide access to the archaeology and heritage of Waterloo, support recovery and wellbeing, and in turn, enable beneficiaries to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to engage with heritage. If you are able to identify individuals who would benefit from this type of activity to support their wellbeing, please consider a referral via our Expression of Interest form. Applications will close at the end of September.
