Meet Cobseo’s Members: Introducing BRAVEHOUND

Tell us about your organisation…

BRAVEHOUND supports veterans who have mental health challenges. Some have physical injuries. We provide assistance dogs and all required welfare and training support over each dog’s lifetime.

We also support family members and work to increase understanding and compassion for those who carry invisible wounds.

How does your organisation support the Armed Forces Community?

BRAVEHOUND is a military charity working with veterans and their family members.

As well as providing assistance dogs we arrange events and activities to build confidence and encourage beneficiary veterans to engage with the community developing and sharing their talents so that some are able to take up and sustain employment or artistic activities, as valued members of the community.

What makes you proud of the work in the sector?

Seeing veterans grow in confidence and hearing from veterans and their family members how their lives have been transformed by a BRAVEHOUND assistance dog and all of the support we at BRAVEHOUND provide.

How does being a Member of Cobseo help you to do your work?

Membership of Cobseo supports us in every aspect of our work, from Governance, training opportunities, sharing experiences and best practice as well as networking with other organisations.

We know we have expertise and support to call upon in times of difficulties and a community to share successes and achievements with.
