Blesma Member and Army veteran Paul Skivington has achieved outstanding success on the world stage, securing Silver in the Amputee Bracket and Bronze in the Absolute Bracket at the World Para Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
Paul, a former Royal Engineer, lost his leg following a motorbike accident while serving.
Reflecting on the sport’s impact on his wellbeing, Paul said:
“If you’ve had a bad day, you go to a jiu-jitsu class and roll. You get all that built-up aggression and frustration out – it’s brilliant.”
Paul Skivington has already delivered sessions for Blesma Members interested in trying Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and he is planning to run more regional sessions for those who want to get involved.
