Greenwich Hospital awards Launchpad £540,000 in a new three-year funding agreement

Greenwich Hospital has committed £540,000 over the next three years to Launchpad Homeless Veterans Charity, in support of former Royal Navy personnel. This grant will provide accommodation and tailored wraparound support for up to 36 homeless Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and Royal Fleet Auxiliary veterans with complex needs.

Launchpad will provide training and/or employment, wellbeing activities, support and independent living services throughout the partnership. By addressing both housing and wider support needs, Launchpad ensures that veterans are equipped for long-term independence and a sustainable future.

Since its establishment in 2013, Launchpad has assisted over 850 homeless veterans, providing critical, person-centred support to former personnel, at crucial times during their lives.

The charity supports veterans from across the UK, through its properties based in Durham, Newcastle, and Liverpool, helping them rebuild their lives and regain independence.

Deirdre Mills, Director of Greenwich Hospital, said:

“Every veteran deserves a safe place to call home. Launchpad’s dedicated team provides more than just housing, offering practical employment and community-based support to help veterans rebuild their lives. We are proud to invest in their proven approach and help meet the increasing need for secure accommodation for homeless Royal Navy veterans.”

Jill Murray, Chief Executive of Launchpad, said:

“This funding commitment from Greenwich Hospital is a testament to the trust placed in our work. It empowers us to deliver lasting change for Royal Navy veterans, ensuring they receive the support and opportunities needed to progress in creating a stable and sustainable life after service. Together, we are building brighter futures for those who have served our country, and we are excited to continue this valued partnership.” To learn more about the work of Launchpad, visit: Homepage – Launchpad
