Hundreds bring a splash of colour to Barnstaple in support of The Veterans Charity

The Veterans Charity’s Rock Hard Colour Run proves another spectacular success thanks to runners, volunteers and local businesses.

Rock Park in Barnstaple was transformed into a vibrant sea of colour on Sunday as hundreds of people came together to take part in The Rock Hard Colour Run, raising vital funds to support UK Armed Forces veterans experiencing hardship.

Hosted by The Veterans Charity, the family-friendly event welcomed participants of all ages, who tackled a fun-filled obstacle course while being showered in clouds of brightly coloured powder. Laughter, smiles and an incredible community spirit filled the park throughout the day, creating a memorable celebration of health, happiness and charitable giving.

As well as providing a fantastic day out for local families, the event will help The Veterans Charity continue delivering urgent, life-changing support to veterans and serving personnel facing financial crisis. The charity provides immediate practical assistance, including food, utilities, clothing, communications, household essentials and travel support, often within just 24 hours of receiving a referral.

Danny Greeno, Chief Executive Officer of The Veterans Charity, said:

“What a truly incredible day. It was an absolute joy to see so many smiling faces enjoying the obstacles, embracing the colour and making lasting memories together.

Events like the Rock Hard Colour Run are about far more than having fun. Every person who entered, volunteered or supported the event has helped us continue our mission of being there for members of the Armed Forces Community when they need us most. We are enormously grateful to every runner who took part, every volunteer who gave their time so generously, and every business that helped make the event possible.”

The charity is delighted that the event has raised more than £3000 and is already working on plans for the 2027 event with the date being announced soon.
