RAFAKidz Kinloss celebrated its official opening with a visit from the Commander of the 51st Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Scotland, Brigadier Jody Davies MBE.
Brigadier Davies cut the ribbon and declared the nursery in Kinloss officially open before meeting RAFAKidz staff and children. He was then given a tour of the nursery with Deputy Manager Pauline Ferrier and CEO of RAFAKidz and Secretary General of the RAF Association, Nick Bunting OBE.
Speaking during the visit, Brigadier Davies said:
“We are delighted to welcome RAFAKidz to Kinloss and benefit from their extensive experience in supporting military children and families. The nursery has been an important part of the Kinloss community since RAF Kinloss was situated here and it has continued to serve families following the establishment of 39 Engineer Regiment here in 2012. We look forward to working with RAFAKidz as they enhance and expand childcare provision for our military community, including the introduction of holiday clubs and a wraparound childcare for school age children.”
Reflecting on the visit, Nick Bunting said:

It was a real privilege to welcome Brigadier Davies to the nursery to showcase the amazing work of our staff and the impact that work has here in the community.”
Located near Kinloss Barracks, RAFAKidz Kinloss offers a range of childcare options for children aged six months to five years, serving military personnel, families and the local community.
RAFAKidz Kinloss is the first RAFAKidz nursery to open in Scotland, joining 21 existing settings located across England and Wales.
Created in 2019 by the RAF Association, RAFAKidz is designed to meet the needs of military and civilian families in the communities around MOD sites, providing affordable and quality childcare.
