On 17 July, cadets from Surrey Army Cadet Force and Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Air Cadets gathered at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) to celebrate the completion of the latest Cadets in Enterprise programme, delivered by X-Forces Enterprise in partnership with LSEG and supported by NatWest, The Institute of Leadership and the Commercial Education Trust.
While the graduation marked the culmination of months of enterprise learning, teamwork and personal development, it also demonstrated the impact that can be achieved when charities, businesses and youth organisations work together to invest in young people.
A highlight of the graduation was a panel discussion and Q&A session, where cadets reflected on their experiences and shared how the programme had helped them grow in confidence. Their willingness to step forward, articulate ideas and engage with senior professionals demonstrated the value of providing young people with opportunities to test themselves in new environments.
For organisations working across the Armed Forces and wider third sector, Cadets in Enterprise offers an example of the value of early intervention. By helping cadets develop transferable skills, financial confidence, self-belief and leadership potential at a formative stage, the programme strengthens the pipeline of future service personnel, volunteers, employees, entrepreneurs and community leaders.
