It is with both gratitude and sadness that homelessness charity ALABARÉ shares that Commodore Richard Lord CBE RN has stepped down as Chair of the charity’s Wiltshire Ambassadors group.
Richard’s commitment to ALABARÉ has been exemplary. He has helped to build a community of passionate supporters who have championed our work across the county, the wider South West region and overseas.
Through countless activities and acts of generosity, Richard and the Wiltshire group of ambassadors have helped raise nearly £200,000 in support of ALABARÉ’s cause through sleep-outs, skydives, and historical talks.
The outgoing Chair has been quick to recognise that the success of the charity’s Ambassadors programme has been a team effort, enabling so many successful fundraising and engagement initiatives over the years.
We would also like to pay special tribute to Richard’s family, whose unwavering support, encouragement and generosity have been such an important part of their journey with ALABARÉ.
Chief Executive, Andrew Lord, said:
“Richard’s impact extends far beyond the funds raised. He has been an outstanding advocate for ALABARÉ, opening doors, strengthening relationships and inspiring others to give their time, energy and resources to support those who need it most.
“On behalf of everyone at ALABARÉ, our trustees, colleagues, volunteers and fellow Ambassadors, we would like to thank Richard for his years of exceptional service and leadership. We wish him our very best and assure him that he remains a valued member of the ALABARÉ family.”
ALABARÉ is currently recruiting for a new Chair of Ambassadors in Wiltshire, with applications to be sent to a.lord@alabare.co.uk.
