Armed Forces Outreach Service New Website goes live

The Armed Forces Outreach Service launched its new website last week which can be found at www.armedforcesoutreachservice.org

The website provides a much clearer and easier way to navigate information about the service, what we offer and who to contact for assistance and support. In addition, we are going to be updating the Website with our news stories such as our joint project with Walking with the Wounded to second an engagement worker from their organisation to jointly enhance the provision across both organisations.

The Armed Forces Outreach Service is a joint local authority and registered housing partnership between Gateshead Council, Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle, Durham County Council and Believe Housing.

We provided dedicated Armed Forces Outreach Workers in social housing across the areas of Gateshead, Durham, and Newcastle. We address a range of support needs and provide advice, support and signposting for the Armed Forces Community to gain outcomes on housing, benefits, employment and training, health and wellbeing as a few examples. In addition, we also partnership work with SSAFA with all our outreach workers being SSAFA caseworker trained.
