Fighting With Pride launched its Battle for Lost Veterans campaign at its Community Dedication Event of the LGBT+ Armed Forces Memorial sited at the National Memorial Arboretum on 20 June. In the first 30 days since the launch 50 new veterans came forward to secure the reparations owed to them. However, we estimate that there are around 1,000 eligible veterans still to come forward.
Veterans must apply before the 12 December 2026 and they could be eligible for up to £70,000 in financial reparations.
We need the support of the Cobseo community to ensure that no eligible veteran misses this important deadline. Members are asked to:
- Share links to the Fighting With Pride website throughout their networks.
- Download and distribute our campaign materials, including one resource aimed directly at LGBTQ+ veterans and another designed for people who may know someone they served alongside.
- Include information about the campaign in member newsletters and on social media.
- Use the hashtag #BattleForLostVeterans2026 to help extend the campaign’s reach.
All campaign materials can be downloaded from the Fighting With Pride website. https://www.fightingwithpride.org.uk/reparations/
Organisations wishing to distribute printed leaflets through their networks can request copies by emailing info@fightingwithpride.org.uk, stating the quantity required and the full postal address for delivery.
Every share could reach a veteran who is entitled to recognition and financial reparation. Please help us ensure that no one is left behind—and that no eligible veteran misses the 12 December 2026 deadline.
