Military charity and media organisation BFBS has won the coveted Entertainment Show of the Year at the Community Radio Awards 2022 for the weekday afternoon show on its BFBS Aldershot station.
Natasha Reneaux presents the programme from 1300-1600hrs, entertaining and supporting the local military personnel, their families and veterans in the community.
The judges said:
“This is a great show, mixing light and shade to bring an entertaining mix, packed full of content directly relating to the audience and with a personable presenter who is really funny and upbeat.”
Using a conversational style to inform her audience of news stories, Natasha sounds like she is chatting to ‘her friend the listener’. She has a cheeky, yet educational side to her interviewing technique, and her military audience is always at the forefront of her mind.
Natasha said:
“To have received gold in Entertainment Show of the Year is a huge honour. I always try to provide some light relief and laughs for the military community during my shows as well as keeping them informed. It’s a privilege to work alongside our military audience who sacrifice so much for our country and to keep them connected with their families who are left behind.”
Natasha knows many of her audience as she is often out and about with them, covering military exercises, ceremonial duties or attending their family days. Her take on music, news stories and TV programs have an interesting spin that often gets the listener thinking or making comparisons to life at home.
BFBS has been serving the military community for more than 75 years at home and overseas, informing its audience but also keeping their spirits up. Natasha’s broadcasts always have a mixture of light-heartedness, and when needed, the tact of telling stories of military personnel fighting on the front line.
