Our Centre of Excellence at Llandudno opened in 2011 is now looking for an inspirational leader to take it forward into the busiest period of the Charity’s 103 year history.  Our membership numbers are growing as we are engaging with more and more of the ex-Service population who have severe sight loss.  It is a great privilege for us to teach people in their 80s, 90s and beyond to use computers, ride tandem cycles, rediscover how to live independently and enjoy their lives through a host of other activities.  Alongside this activity we also offer respite care and holidays (with nursing if required) in our beautiful grade II listed centre.  All of this activity is achieved in an informal, warm and friendly setting that pays meticulous attention to the wellbeing of our members, health and safety and Care Inspection Wales regulations.  It is a place where we frequently hear ‘you have given me my life back’.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone make a hugely positive difference in the lives of hundreds of people, and have a great deal of fun doing it.  It is a complex role and we are looking for an inspirational leader who will be able to work on a complex £3.5m budget, sing happy birthday to someone celebrating their 100th birthday, deliver complex operational plans and be interviewed for BBC Wales TV all on the same day!

The inspirational leader we are looking for will not necessarily have a background in social care services but they will have the ability to lead a team of dedicated and highly skilled managers who do.  They will be flexible, creative and highly skilled at working in partnership with other service providers both internal and external.  The Centre Manager is the face of the Charity in North Wales and frequently hosts VIP guests and visitors to the centre.

In return, we offer a wide range of benefits, career development opportunities and a relocation package for the right candidate.
