Salary £62,000 – £66,000 per annum (depending on location)
We need an exceptional individual to develop and implement a strategy to engage Blind Veterans UK’s target audiences at a community level.
At Blind Veterans UK, we believe that no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone. It is our mission to ensure that blind ex-Servicemen and women have access to the finest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.
The number of veterans we help is increasing rapidly as we implement our overall strategy to embed a national footprint and take our exceptional services to the beneficiary. To support this, we have developed an ambitious fundraising and engagement strategy to develop our brand and significantly grow our income over the next 5 years.
To achieve this, we are looking to recruit to 5 new senior posts across the Engagement and Fundraising division – each with responsibility for a key strand of the new strategy. This specific opportunity is to lead our Community Engagement team.
Leading a talented team of circa 28 people based across the UK, the role will lead on work to raise awareness, understanding and consideration of Blind Veterans UK at a community level. In addition, the role will lead on all aspects of community fundraising, and the acquisition of members, supporters and partners.
In order to be considered for this role, you will have a proven track record of leading diverse teams, and an understanding of the importance of brand awareness when disseminating information. This role will manage teams of both fundraising and marketing professionals, and as such you will have experience across both areas, in addition to experience of embedding strategic thinking and planning.
