Blind Veterans UK is the national charity helping blind ex-service men and women lead independent and fulfilling lives. We offer blind veterans access to the highest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.
We are looking for a professional and personable Member Support Assistant to provide an excellent first point of contact and experience for new applicants for membership, in line with Blind Veterans UK’s customer care/experience standards, and co-ordinate all administration relating to the admissions process.
Working as part of a team you will liaise closely with social services and ex-Service organisations, coordinate and host ophthalmic clinics, provide advice and resolve admissions queries as well as formulating documentation, creating and maintaining paper and electronic files and updating our beneficiary database.
There is a requirement for regular national travel to attend re-unions and training courses with possible overnight stays.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to manage the needs of people with a variety of physical disabilities. In return, we offer a wide range of benefits and career development opportunities for the right candidates.
