Building Heroes are a charity based in West Sussex providing military veterans with construction skills training and employment support at twelve locations around the country.
We are seeking a Recruitment, Welfare and Progression Officer who will be responsible for recruiting veterans on to the programme, supporting them throughout the training and identifying suitable employment opportunities on graduation. To achieve this, the post holder will work with our existing referral agencies and establish and grow a network of businesses within the building
trades who will provide employment and/or further training for our veterans.
Candidates will ideally have experience of learner recruitment and welfare support, plus a track record of networking to establish work placements or progression opportunities. A military background, or knowledge of the resettlement process would be desirable.
The post holder will be spending a significant amount of their time at our training partner’s premises in Birmingham and travelling to external meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to attend marketing events/job fairs across the UK and build relationships with businesses who would be willing to recruit veterans. They may also be required to provide out-ofhours telephone support for trainees on the programme.
This post is a part time role of 22.5 hours worked flexibly across the week and available for an imminent start.
