4 June and 18 June
In partnership with London Stock Exchange Group, the Career Compass workshops deliver essential skills and knowledge to those making the transition from uniform to civilian employment or those returning from a career break.
The course will be delivered in a secure, virtual format, freeing you from the constraints of travel and saving precious time.
This programme will empower you to make informed choices about your career pathway as together we explore the dynamics of how government, the private sector, public sector, third sector, and volunteering work together.
Our unique ‘Enterprise For Life’ content guides attendees to pinpoint opportunities aligned with their skills and experience and translate them into actionable plans for success. It empowers individuals to bridge the gap between their capabilities and real-world pathways in various sectors.
Lt Gen (Retd) Richard Nugee CB CVO CBE, Chairman of X-Forces Enterprise and formerly Chief of Defence People commented:
“Very few who leave Service life also leave the job market, but after time in the Forces the civilian world can be confusing and daunting, even if you have experienced it for a few years. This workshop will allow understanding of how it all works and what to look out for – how our society’s organisations operate and how you might fit into them. The knowledge and orientation gained will hugely complement the military skillset to ignite exciting and purposeful careers.”
Why should you attend?
You will leave empowered to make informed decisions about your career path. Together we will:
- Boost confidence and prepare to achieve career goals.
- Establish or compliment your career management plan.
- Understand advantages and disadvantages of working in the private, public and third sectors.
- Compare and contrast; employment, self-employment and volunteering.
- Better appreciate the mix of full-time, part-time, fixed-term and contract roles.
