China Fleet Country Club has sparked a buzz in Cornwall this month, hosting a high-profile VIP weekend that brought together some of the UK’s most celebrated athletes, Olympians, and top influencers. The event created an unforgettable experience that had everyone talking!
In collaboration with London-based Good Vibes Only Talent Agency, the weekend proved a huge success for the Club, showcasing the facilities and putting Cornwall firmly on the map as a hub for such VIP events.
Over the weekend, China Fleet Country Club welcomed a truly legendary guest list, featuring some of the UK’s most celebrated athletes, Olympians, and influential figures. Among the standout attendees were Mark Ormrod, the three-time Paralympic medallist and motivational speaker who overcame life-changing injuries to achieve incredible feats; Lynn Jung, a professional athlete with multiple accolades in both athletics and adventure sports; Rory Gibbs, an elite athlete known for his endurance and grit in competitive sports; Aklakur Rahman, a pioneering adventurer who has twice conquered Mount Everest, pushing the limits of human endurance; Heather Fisher, a rugby star with more than 100 caps for Team GB and a World Cup silver medal; Desirèe Henry, an Olympic sprinter who helped secure gold for Team GB in the 4x100m relay at the Rio 2016 Olympics; Bryony Page, Olympic gymnast and Rio 2016 silver medallist in trampolining; Pete Reed, a rowing legend with three Olympic gold medals and multiple World Championship titles; and Tonia Couch, an Olympic diver with numerous international podium finishes, including a Commonwealth Games gold medal.
The event also attracted a range of influential creatives and personalities, including Mariah Idrissi, a trailblazing model and the first hijab-wearing model to work with global brands like H&M, helping to redefine fashion diversity; Cali White, a fitness expert and motivational figure who has inspired thousands to lead healthier, more balanced lives; Ella Greenwood, an award-winning filmmaker known for her work on mental health advocacy through cinema; Laurie Williams, a renowned artist and influencer with a passion for spreading positivity and creativity; and Robyn Love, a Paralympic athlete and advocate for disability inclusion in sports.
These star-studded guests took part in a variety of exciting activities throughout the weekend, including an exclusive modelling and red-carpet workshop, fun assault courses, as well as using the Club’s Gym, Aqua Spa, and Driving Range.
The event culminated in their team building Winter Party and meal in the Club’s Farmhouse Suite, where attendees were welcomed by China Fleet Country Club’s Managing Director Dean Bennett. They celebrated the weekend’s success and forged lasting connections.
In previous years, the talent agency’s annual Winter Party has been hosted by international hotel chains, but for the first time, this exclusive gathering took place at China Fleet Country Club in Saltash. The event marked a major shift for the Club, showcasing its exceptional facilities and securing its reputation as a premier venue for elite gatherings. The weekend was a true reflection of Cornwall’s potential as a world-class event destination.
