Date: 12 June

Time: 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm

We are pleased to welcome back Care after Combat’s training on Potential links between military service and offending behaviour.

Care after Combat will run the training both in the morning and the afternoon on two days, 12 May and 12 June.

The training, ‘Potential links between Military service and offending behaviour’ will be delivered by Care after Combat CEO and Clinical and Research Lead, Dr Jane Jones and aims to:

  • Raise awareness of the challenges veterans may face when transitioning to civilian life—and how these can sometimes lead to involvement with the justice system.
  • Challenge myths that incorrectly link military service to offending behaviour and explore how these misconceptions can impact sentencing.
  • Explain unique challenges veterans encounter in the justice system, particularly around release from prison.
  • Share practical examples of effective support strategies for veterans at risk or already involved in the justice system—based on first-hand experience.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to network with like-minded people, share best practices, and access resources designed to enhance veteran support.

This training is open to professionals and friends and family of veterans and is free to attend through the Combat Stress Learning Community. Sign up now to secure your place and gain access to online training and this thought provoking training session. learning.combatstress.org.uk
