20 FANYs supported Ex MARCUS (Multi Agency Rest Centre Unified Service) earlier in July. The exercise saw FANYs taking part in a range of different role playing scenarios to test the integration and preparedness of a variety of volunteer organisations and local councils.
The British Red Cross led the exercise with significant input from the Corps, RE-ACT, and Islamic Relief. Throughout the exercise, there was a key focus on understanding colleagues’ key skills and strengths better, dealing with service users who had hidden disabilities, and handling spontaneous volunteers known as SponVols.
