Partnership background information:

In 2018 the UK government published ‘The Strategy for Our Veterans’, with the aim that every veteran feels more valued, supported, and empowered. Veterans and the Armed Forces Community currently receive support from various organisations, across public, private, and charitable sectors. The purpose of the Veteran Support Partnership is to support the delivery of the UK Government Veteran strategy by eliminating barriers to opportunities and inspiring the Armed Forces Community to reach their full potential.

The partnership ambition for 2021 is to deliver three virtual events, each event will focus on one of the strategic principles – Support, Develop, Employ. The partnership will use these events as a platform to amplify and showcase the services, advice, and opportunities available to the Armed Forces Community.

Please use the #VeteranSupportEvent hashtag across social media communications.

Organisations in the partnership:

NHS Business Services Authority, Newcastle Building Society, Career Transition Partnership, Walking with the Wounded, Caterpillar, Step into Health, Veterans’ Employment Transition Support, Forward Assist, Nexus, Your Homes Newcastle, Northern Bootcamp, Newcastle City Council.
