NHS England publishes the NHS Long Term Plan

NHS England has published the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP)  and the full document, along with other resources, is now available at www.longtermplan.nhs.uk/

Whilst the plan focuses on a number of cross cutting themes to improve the NHS, please note the dedicated section on veterans and Armed Forces health on page 119.

Informed by frontline health and care staff, patient groups and other experts, the LTP sets out how we will make the NHS fit for the future. It details the improvements NHS England wants to make over the next decade and how they intend to achieve them, addressing the challenges that the NHS faces now.   This is summarised in the document available here.

NHS organisations across the country now need to work together with local partners, patients, staff and the public, to determine how they will deliver these improvements and make the NHS Long Term Plan a reality – building on what they have already achieved over recent years. NHS England will therefore be discussing this with a range of stakeholders over the forthcoming months and how services need to change and  improve to support the ambitions set out in the plan.  This is an important opportunity to help shape what the LTP means for our areas of interest and the work they are doing.
