Recognition in His Majesty The Kings Birthday Honours List 2024. Our volunteer Events and Fundraising Manager Nicola Norville was awarded an MBE for services to Armed Forces Personnel. The award recognises her achievements supporting military personnel in rehabilitation as a Speech and Language Therapist, and in her role as a volunteer for the DMRC Benevolent Fund.
Nicola joined the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) in 2009, at the height of military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, seeing the devastating impact of war firsthand. Clinically, she works with injured personnel admitted to DMRC’s Neurological Services Team, treating patients with complex brain injuries.
In her spare time, Nicola continues to support DMRC personnel by volunteering for our charity.
