Full Time:   37.5 hours

Salary: £27,894.96 pa or £28,914.96 pa if Career Development & Guidance (IAG) Level 6 qualified

We have an exciting opportunity for a quality driven, professional and highly motivated individual to join an established community based employability service working to Individual Placement & Support (IPS) principles.

Since 2010 The Poppy Factory employability service has facilitated over 950 job starts for Veterans (our clients) who experience some form of disability or health challenge in relation to work. Demand for our service has grown significantly; we are ambitious about supporting many more wounded; injured or sick veterans into meaningful and sustainable work and are now entering a further period of growth.

Are you:

  • Recovery oriented and hopeful about every person’s ability to succeed in employment, open minded about helping people move into competitive jobs regardless of physical or mental health issues, including substance use disorders?
  • A creative problem-solver who asks questions to learn more about a situation and is thoughtful and tenacious in working with others to find a range of possible solutions?
  • A good job developer, who is able to present yourself in a professional manner, a skilled listener interested in learning about other people and opportunities, and politely persistent?

The successful candidate for this role will have a sound track record of working with people with mental and physical health problems or disabilities and supporting them to gain and retain work, as well as employer engagement skills.

You will need excellent communication, prioritisation and caseload management skills. The role is home and field based so you will need to be self-motivated and comfortable with remote working, with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with team and other colleagues.

The role also requires strong external networking and relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with both referral partners and employers.

Prior IPS experience would be a strong advantage, although training and support will be available.

The Poppy Factory aims to be an exemplar employer.  We provide good terms and conditions of employment including:

  • A generous Company Pension scheme
  • Company-paid life assurance
  • Funding available for permanent employees to study for the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance & Development.
