***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is now recruiting for the role of Project Manager – Cateran Yomp.
To plan, manage and develop The Cateran Yomp, a mass participation event; in order to deliver agreed income, participation and profile-raising targets.
The Yomp (a military term for a long-distance march) is an epic adventure challenge. Teams of 3-6 people take on 54 miles (gold) in 24 hours across the rugged terrain of the Scottish wilderness. There is also a 36 (silver) or a 22 (bronze) mile option.
It is the largest event of its kind in Scotland and over 1,150 took part in 2017. Since 2011, 4,500 trekkers have taken on the annual challenge to help fundraise for the charity that provides a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need.
The annual event has raised an estimated £2.9 million in seven years in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
Whatever distance you choose, the Yomp tests participants to their limit both physically and mentally. It will also be an unforgettable weekend with your friends and
colleagues, sharing the exhilarating experience and making memories to last a lifetime, whilst raising money for soldiers, veterans and their families.
There are ambitious targets for growth in income and participation for 2018.
