RACPD – Trustee

Business professional, preferably with SME experience

The Royal Artillery Centre for Personal Development (RACPD) is a charity, with company status, providing ‘outstanding’ work-based training. The 60 staff deliver civilian qualifications to Service personnel, whether serving or veteran, and dependants, in UK and Germany.

The Charity was formed in 1998 to offer progressive learning opportunities to soldiers throughout their military career, to improve their professional and personal skills, and to prepare them for subsequent careers. The company office is at Larkhill near Salisbury.

The Board of Trustees wishes to appoint a new Trustee with commercial/business expertise, preferably as SME.

Applications are invited from those with a commitment to RACPD’s vision and the Charity’s Objects, and an interest in Education and the Military, who can demonstrate:

  • Leadership skills gained in commercial or business career.
  • The ability to contribute to the formulation and monitoring of strategy.
  • Effective Board and communication skills.
  • Experience as a Company Director and/or financial management is desirable.

The appointment, which will commence in Summer/Autumn 2017, is for a minimum term of three years. Board meetings are held quarterly and some Trustees also sit on sub-committees. Professional training is provided for new Trustees. The position is voluntary, although expenses are paid.
