About the job

Due to continued investment in our digital transformation journey, we have a newly created position that will support the design, development and testing of the RAF Association group’s web properties to ensure they offer market leading experiences and engagement opportunities for our supporters. In addition to supporting day to day web development activities, the role will support the technical maintenance, content management and user support of websites and landing page experiences for the whole Group. Reporting to our Front End Web Developer, you will support with all web development activity but in particular the maintenance of all group websites. You will have responsibility for ensuring all websites and hosting is configured for optimal performance and security in line with changing trends and technology.

The role is busy and varied and allows you to be fully ‘hands on’ with both technical support and engaging with a wide and diverse range of stake holders. A creative individual will thrive on working collaboratively with colleagues to build user-focused content pages and experiences using information architecture that drives engagement and action.

About you 

Whilst a degree within a web development environment would be desirable, a current and up to date knowledge and experience of WordPress maintenance is an essential requirement. You will be able to tell us about your WordPress (or similar CMS) skills, your familiarity with managing website hosting as well as knowledge of UX and IA principles across different devices. Ideally you will have knowledge of agile project methodology and management tools and a working knowledge of designing optimal user experiences using usability analysis, stakeholder engagement, and UAT.

Whilst the role is very technical we also need you to have an enthusiastic, friendly personality to confidently deliver support and training to end-users across all our websites.
