About the Military Co-working Network Project

Working in partnership with the Royal Air Forces Association, in April 2020 the Military Co-working Network received funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund to run an independently evaluated, 24 month pilot project across military bases in the UK and overseas.  The aim of the pilot is to assess the impact of military Co-working on military partners, and allow the Ministry of Defence and single Services to understand the potential benefits, and how future support should be taken forward.

You will be joining the project at a really exciting time – we are recruiting now to ensure a step change in capacity to manage this work, and there is a small and passionate team looking forward to working with you.  We need flexible, approachable and committed leads, who share our vision of removing disadvantage for military families.  We can’t wait to meet you!

About the role

The Hub Development and Liaison Lead provides remote support to members of up to 6 Co-working hubs in military bases throughout the UK and overseas.  They are responsible for supporting the Co-working community at each location; creating a collaborative environment and ensuring that the military Co-working ‘offer’ is delivered in full; that members are supported; the spaces are run effectively; and there is a vibrant and happy Co-working community in every location.  They also provide the link between military partners who use the hubs and key military base personnel at each location, the MCN project delivery team and a range of other local authority and voluntary sector providers. You will be approachable, friendly and comfortable with a warm and inclusive manner to support the community at each Hub you work with – coupled with an eye for detail to ensure that the Hub has what it needs.

This is a key role within the MCN Project Delivery Team.  The Hub Development and Liaison Lead will work closely with the other members of the team including the MCN Operations and Coordination Lead and the Marketing and Membership Lead to deliver their objectives.

About you

You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic ‘can do’ person with some background and experience in a relevant field such as business operations, customer service or sales and hospitality. Impeccable communication skills are integral to this role as you will liaise with military base personnel to ensure the Co-working hub is a part of their wider community support offer. Responsibilities of this role include converting enquiries into bookings and arranging appointments or tours for new members to view the facilities. You will be a confident networker and have regular engagement with a variety of stakeholders as well as promoting our offer via online communities (social media etc.). Overall, you will ensure that the Hub is well maintained and provide general day to day support to all users and the wider Military Co-working Network team.

A UK driving license is essential for this role as you will be able to travel occasionally to visit the hubs and people that you support.
