The support provided by RAFAKidz to help military families through the challenges of service life has been shortlisted for a national early years award.
The RAFAKidz team has made the shortlist for the Nursery World Awards, an annual event that celebrates and recognises the work of individuals and organisations across the UK’s early years sector.
RAFAKidz has been shortlisted for the Working with Parents category, where the team were able to demonstrate the tailored and informed approach in place at all RAFAKidz settings to support Service children and their families through all stages of deployment.
Josie Mapes, Executive Director of RAFAKidz, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award. Military families face a unique set of challenges, but deployment can be the most disruptive. As a military charity, we understand this, so we’re committed to ensuring the entire family is supported during deployment, when that extra care and compassion make a huge difference. Being shortlisted for our work in this area is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by all RAFAKidz employees and I’m immensely proud of all of them.”
The team will find out if they have won at an award ceremony on 26 September at The Brewery in London.
RAFAKidz was created by the RAF Association in 2019 to help the RAF overcome a wide range of childcare issues that were impacting negatively on the serving RAF community.
With 22 settings operating across the UK, RAFAKidz is now the largest provider of early years childcare to the RAF, playing a key role in supporting military families.
