The Royal Air Forces Association is the charity that supports the RAF family. From an injured airman fighting to get back on their feet, to a child missing a parent working away from home, to a WWII veteran in need of companionship, the Association is there.
Reporting to the Welfare Training Manager, Casual Training Officers are being recruited to deliver welfare training to volunteers at locations throughout the UK. You will deliver around 12 sessions of training for our new befriender role, although this may increase and diversify to include other training in the future. This is essentially a training delivery role, involving some travel within a defined area.
Do you have experience of delivering engaging training to others, good IT skills, and excellent organisational skills? Ideally, we would like you to have worked with volunteers before and to have an understanding about what motivates them. This role is particularly suited to someone who is confident and able to use their initiative and probably has their own training business or works part time as a trainer already.
The post is home based. The post holder will be required to travel throughout their region on occasions and therefore a driving licence and use of own vehicle is essential. Mileage allowance is paid per mile and you will need to have use of a laptop.
