Service Dogs UK – Fundraising Manager (part time)

Service Dogs UK is the only UK charity providing accredited PTSD assistance dogs to members of the armed forces and emergency services with a clinical diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. We use dogs mainly from ‘rescue’ and partner them up with  our military and blue light Veterans, they then embark on a life changing 9 -12 month  journey full of positivity as they teach their dogs to become their assistance dogs under our expert guidance. They accomplish success as accredited partnerships and their assistance dogs to help them to better manage their PTSD symptoms; it really is changing two lives at a time!

Raising awareness of the need for support to those that have been injured in service is key to the charities aims. We need to secure donations, sponsorship and grant funding to help us provide support to other Veterans in other areas and to help us grow to a national charity so we can achieve this.

We are now looking for a Head of Fundraising to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

As Fundraising Manager you will develop our fundraising strategy and grow our income by working mainly remotely accessing fundraising streams and locating opportunities for growth.

You will be responsible for driving our fundraising operations, you will grow income focusing on the diversification of our supporter base and managing relationships with  key supporters. You will also play an integral role in the strategic direction of the organisation, producing fundraising plans, strategies, and forecasts.

As a part of the Senior Management Team, you will manage and develop the volunteer fundraising team, setting objectives and building an inclusive team culture which delivers results through innovation and collaboration.

Additionally, you will:

– Liaise with suppliers and external agencies
– Maximise participation, profile and income generation
– Lead on setting the fundraising budget and provide reports

About You

To be considered as Fundraising Manager, you will need:

– Proven track record of developing successful fundraising strategies that have generated income
– Experience in managing and developing fundraising volunteers and optimising performance
– Experience in delivering income through grants and sponsorships.
– Experience in using CRM systems to prospect for support and steward existing relationships
– Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and forecasting
– Knowledge of legislation and standards that impact raising funds
