SSAFA announces inaugural Cheltenham Race Day, celebrating 100 years of the Gold Cup

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is pleased to announce the first SSAFA Race Day at the iconic Cheltenham Racecourse, sponsored by Spirax-Sarco.

The April Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse will take place over two days, with the SSAFA event on the Thursday, 18 April 2024. The occasion will celebrate the work of SSAFA in support of local serving personnel, veterans and their families. All proceeds from the day will go to support SSAFA throughout South West England.

Along with the races, the SSAFA Gold Cup lunch will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy a great meal with other supporters of the Armed Forces community. Tickets can be bought individually or for a table of 10 attendees. The lunch will be held in the National Hunt Room, and the beautiful Gold Cup itself will be on display.

Simon McNeill-Ritchie, SSAFA Regional Fundraising Officer for South West England, added:

“A limited number of places are available for the SSAFA Gold Cup lunch in the presence of the world-famous trophy, enjoying its centenary in 2024. Guests will also be joined by Chelsea Pensioners in their distinctive scarlet uniforms. Tickets for the lunch are heavily discounted to the usual price and include parking and entry to the racecourse.”

If you wish to attend the races but not the SSAFA Gold Cup lunch, tickets are available through the Jockey Club Website.
