SSAFA – Branch Administrator (Staffordshire)

£21,000 Pro rata

15 hours per week

Based in Staffordshire Branch Office, Stafford

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part time Branch Administrator with the Staffordshire Branch of SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

About the role

We are seeking an organised and experienced administrator to work closely with branch chairmen and other volunteers in Staffordshire.  You will support the local ex-service and service community by:

  • Providing the day to day administration required to run the branch office:  monitoring the branch email inbox; answering the telephone; maintaining records.
  • Liaising with branch officers, volunteers, clients and outside agencies.
  • Assisting with recruiting new volunteers and the ongoing support to branch volunteers.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully you will be a team player with good communication skills, experience of working in an office environment and managing and prioritising your own workload. You will also have good IT skills and experience of using MS Office Suite.

You will also have the ability to handle welfare cases with sensitivity and empathy.

Knowledge of the Armed Forces and ex-Forces community and of working with volunteers would be an advantage but is not essential.
