SSAFA

SSAFA – Casework Administrator

***THIS JOB VACANCY HAS NOW CLOSED***

Salary £23 000 per annum

37.5 hours

Home Based in East of England

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator to join the East Region (Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk)  at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 82,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.

About the role

You will be providing specialist administrative support, working closely with branch volunteers in order to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.  This will include supporting volunteer caseworkers, call handling, sign-posting and triaging initial enquiries.   The post is home-based but you will need to be able to travel around the region once COVID restrictions are lifted.

About the team

In this new role you will initially be working closely with volunteers from SSAFA Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire Branch providing support to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. We anticipate that the successful candidate will work as part of a larger support team in the future East Regional Office.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will be a team player with excellent organisational, customer service, communication, and IT skills.  You will also have experience of working with volunteers and the ability to handle welfare cases with sensitivity and empathy. You must be highly motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision in a home-based environment.

Knowledge of the Armed Forces and ex-Forces community would be an advantage but is not essential.

An excellent understanding of MS Office 365 (particularly databases, remote applications (such as MS Teams) and MS Excel) is essential). However, we will train you in the SSAFA -specific systems you will need for the role.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

No agencies please. Any unsolicited submissions from agencies will be accepted as a direct application from the candidate and no fees will be payable.
