SSAFA joins forces with Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum for blooming good cause

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is delighted to be partnering with the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum (SOFO) for a unique summer celebration that combines history, horticulture and community spirit for a summer celebration in Woodstock to support the Armed Forces community.

From 5:30pm on Thursday 9 July, visitors are invited to enjoy Bubbles & Blooms in the Garden, an elegant evening garden party held in the beautiful grounds of the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock.  The event coincides with the museum’s first-ever “From Battlefields to Blooms” flower show, offering guests an opportunity to experience stunning floral displays alongside exclusive access to the museum’s collections and exhibitions.

Guests will enjoy drinks and canapés, live jazz from the Waterloo Band of The Rifles, behind-the-scenes tours of the museum archives, and the chance to explore both the flower show and the museum’s latest exhibition, Lee Miller: Women at War.

Most importantly, every ticket sold will help make a difference to members of the Armed Forces community. Proceeds from the evening will directly support the work of SSAFA.

Ian Talbot, SSAFA Oxfordshire Branch Chair, said:

“This partnership is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when organisations come together to celebrate our military community while raising funds to support it. We are incredibly grateful to everyone attending and to our partners at the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum for helping create what promises to be a memorable summer evening.”

SSAFA has supported serving personnel, veterans and their families for more than 140 years, providing practical, emotional and financial assistance whenever it is needed. Events such as this help ensure that no member of the Armed Forces community has to battle alone.

The evening is kindly sponsored by Unipart.
