A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Personal and Family Support Worker in the Personal Support and Social Work Service East Region at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for a self motivated person to join our team and contribute to further development of the service.
Our Personal Support & Social Work Service RAF aims to provide a professional confidential and comprehensive range of Social Work and Welfare support services to the RAF Community within the UK.
You will have the opportunity to build on and develop your existing skills and knowledge base in the Health & Social Care field whilst working closely with other SSAFA Personal and Family Support Workers, Station Commanding Officers and their Community Support staff, as well as Local Authorities, Health and other civilian agencies in relation to providing welfare support to all RAF personnel, their immediate family and dependents.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have a recognised NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent and have solid experience of working with children and families/ adult’s services.
You will be able to manage a complex caseload including carrying out assessments, preparing plans and monitoring and reviewing outcomes. You will be IT literate and confident using MS Office and Management Information Systems.
Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deliver presentations are also essential for this role.
You must be prepared to carry out a significant amount of driving during the course of your work and have a full driving license.
