A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Personal and Family Support Worker in the Personal Support and Social Work Service South Region at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity for an organised and empathetic person to join our team and contribute to further development of the service. You will have the opportunity to build on and develop your existing skills and knowledge base in the Health & Social Care field whilst working closely with Station Commanding Officers and their Community Support staff across a vast geographical area, as well as Local Authorities, Health and other civilian agencies in relation to providing welfare support to all RAF personnel, their immediate family and dependents. This is an exciting and sometimes unpredictable role where no two days are the same!
Whilst carrying out the role of Personnel and Family Support Worker, SSAFA will look to set you exciting objectives and goals which will contribute to your personal development.
Our Personal Support & Social Work Service RAF aims to provide a professional confidential and comprehensive range of Social Work and Welfare support services to the RAF Community within the UK.
Requirements
To carry out this role successfully you will have:
- An NVQ level 3 in Social Care or equivalent.
- The ability to manage a caseload through your experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans and monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
- Excellent IT skills including experience of using a management information system.
- Solid experience of working with local authority children and families/ adult’s services.
- A working knowledge of relevant legislation.
You must be prepared to travel in the course of your work and a full driving licence is essential.
