A fantastic opportunity has arisen at SSAFA for a Regional Mentoring Coordinator to join the Specialist Services team.

About the role

We are seeking a Regional Mentoring Coordinator with the ability to manage and support SSAFA volunteer mentors across the South of England. This role is home based with extensive travel across the area of responsibility.  The area of responsibility stretches from Tidworth west to Plymouth/Cornwall and north to Birmingham including Wales, with the main area of concentration being Tidworth, Portsmouth and Plymouth.

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated individual, who will be required to monitor and review the mentoring relationships, provide feedback and update the Mentoring Services Manager with mentoring progress, developments and statistical data.  The role will also require you to coordinate the work of all volunteer mentors and provide support for training and seminars.

Requirements

To carry out this role successfully you will have a passion to work with volunteers and specialist staff. You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Experience of managing people/volunteers is essential. Knowledge of issues effecting service leavers, transition and WIS personnel would be an advantage.
