About the role

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Primary Care Nurse to lead a small team of Primary Care Nurses within the Primary Health Care team. Together with primary care colleagues, you will be responsible for delivering and developing the primary care nursing service within the Brunei Command. The Senior Primary Care Nurse works alongside Medical, Nursing, Health and Social Care professionals.

A relocation package is available for this role. This role will be fixed term for 18 months.

About the team

The Primary health care team in Brunei consists of GPs, Nurses and Pharmacy staff and is supported by a SSAFA team of Health Visitors, Midwives and Social Workers with the visiting services of a Speech and Language Therapist. Clinical Supervision is provided by an in-house GP in relation to non-medical prescribing and by the Senior Medical Officer of the medical centre in Brunei.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will be a Registered General Nurse, with relevant post qualification experience and ideally hold a non-medical prescribing qualification. Experience of working within a military environment and working with a diverse population would be an advantage. You will have a good working knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding of both children and Adults at Risk. There will be a requirement to fully engage, lead and support the delivery of the routine childhood immunisation programme and the annual flu campaign, including the delivery of vaccinations.

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of:

  • Experience of working in a remote location, experience in decision making, audit skills.
  • Team management and leadership skills are essential as well as the ability to be able to work autonomously and work as an effective team player.
