Glasgow Helping Heroes
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Service Manger of SSAFA’s bespoke Glasgow Helping Heroes service, based in the centre of Glasgow.
The service provides “one stop shop” advice and support for the Armed Forces Community that live or work in the City of Glasgow, including serving personnel, veterans and their dependant families. It is very well established within Glasgow and has won many awards.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing and promoting this unique service, working closely with the Head of Specialist Services and Glasgow City Council to achieve this. You will lead and develop a busy team to deliver a high quality service. In addition, you will be accountable for data management and reporting.
This is a great opportunity to help, not only Armed Forces Personnel, but the wider Glasgow community as a whole through developing local policies, operational procedures and long-term sustainable relationships with regional funding sources and partner organisations.
Requirements
- To carry out this role successfully you will have:
- Excellent people management skills with experience of running a small team.
- The ability to be able to establish and maintain partnerships with other organisations.
- Demonstrable written and verbal communications skills Experience of managing budgets, compiling statistical reports and funding bids.
The role involves occasional travel to London and around Scotland.
