Based in Gerrards Cross, BuckinghamshireThe Forces Media Academy is being established in 2017 with training commencing in Autumn 2017. It will be teaching ex-servicemen and women the skills required to gain an HNC in Creative Media Production. The mature students will be attending a one year course at the academy’s headquarters in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.
We are looking for a Course Manager who has already worked in the field of Media education. There will be a small intake of students each year, so it is important that the successful candidate can not only be the Course Manager, but also be the lead lecturer in the subject.
The position would suit someone who is already working in either Higher or Further Education delivering a similar course and able to deliver a course to HNC/HND level. The successful candidate will ideally have a degree or experience in a media related subject. The candidates must be of experienced teacher/lecturer grade and qualified to teach. This role is not suitable for newly qualified teachers.
A good understanding of the current media production environment will be an advantage, especially knowledge of digital media platforms. A knowledge of, and affinity with, the Armed Forces would be desirable. Experience of establishing a course programme from initial stages would also be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to demonstrate how best to establish and maintain a learning environment conducive to the effective management, organisation, and running of the Academy.
