Support Our Paras – Chief Executive

Support our Paras is the charity for The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces providing support and assistance through the welfare of serving and retired soldiers and their dependants, as well as the maintenance of Regimental efficiency, ethos, spirit and heritage.

The Role

Support our Paras are looking to recruit a new CEO due to the upcoming retirement of our current CEO, who has led the Charity since 2010.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to lead a small but dedicated team and work with a highly capable Board to develop and grow the organisation into the future.

The Charity plays an important role in supporting both serving soldiers and veterans and their dependants, but it could do more. The new CEO will lead the further development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy, build its profile and supporter base and increase its income.

The core ambition of the Board and the Charity is to increase the level of welfare provision and to provide an improved support network for those who have served in The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces to help with financial, business, social and health issues.

The new CEO will be instrumental in the Charity’s ability to realise this ambition.

The Candidate

The new Chief Executive will bring drive and energy to all the Charity’s work; they will lead the Charity staff by personal example and through demonstrable understanding and empathy of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces.

They will be strategic, creative thinking and innovative; yet, they will prepared to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in; and all this will be done with a sense of humour and an unerring sense of commitment to our soldiers.

Our new Chief Executive will be a highly effective and modern leader; an outstanding manager of their staff and resources; an exceptional supporter of the Board of Trustees; and a first class communicator and influencer.
