The First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps) is delighted to announce the appointment of Colonel (Ret’d) Suzy Holmes as the new Commanding Officer on 1 October 2026. Suzy succeeds Commandant Lisa Giles, who steps down at the end of September after four years of distinguished leadership and service to the Corps.
Suzy brings with her extensive experience of the military charity sector, leadership, stakeholder engagement and support to the Armed Forces community, and will lead the Corps into its next chapter as it continues to provide highly trained volunteers in support of defence, emergency services and national resilience. She joins the Corps from the Army Benevolent Fund, where she held a senior leadership role in the fundraising team, after serving 32 years in the British Army.
As well as welcoming Suzy, the Corps would also like to express our sincere thanks to Lisa Giles for her outstanding service over the past four years. Under her command, the Corps has continued to strengthen its operational support, develop its people and uphold the values and traditions that have defined the FANY for more than a century. We wish Lisa every success in her future endeavours and look forward to the exciting future ahead under Suzy’s leadership.
